Aw, you want to get to know me better!
My greatest passions are my small business, marketing and design, and connecting with people.
A cause I'm passionate about is voting rights. I volunteer with the League of Women Voters to educate community members, students, and people incarcerated at the Dunn County Jail on their voting rights, and how to register.
I also try to find time to read, learn, and relax. I love the concept of meditation, but very rarely get the chance to practice! I could surely benefit from it.
Work/Life Balance in a society that normalizes a "Grind" lifestyle.
I'm going to be honest. I work 30 hours a week on the marketing team at Royal Credit Union. I love it, but I would love it more if I wasn't juggling it with school. I have five classes this semester, and also want time to focus on my small business, passions, and extra-curriculars.
I often think to myself, are these classes rewarding and fulfilling to me? If they aren't, is there a different path I should be taking? And what happened to slow life? I'm grateful to have the privilege to be in college, and have such a wonderful position at such a young age, but what's the end goal? Am I overextending myself just to create the picture perfect resume? What comes after that?
Something that has helped me a lot in this mental struggle is reminding myself that there is fulfillment to be found all around me. I think the modern age of social media has set incredibly unrealistic expectations, and has fueled a mindset where everyone needs to be the best. I don't need to be the best at what I do! I love my marketing position, and even if days are hard, I find fulfillment in conversations with my co-workers, I find fulfillment in knowing that Royal Credit Union has values, and they stand by them. I find comfort that I'm only 21! I'm not supposed to know anything yet! Perhaps I will delete social media and learn how to make bread. After work, that is.
Oh the places I'd go:
- Amsterdam
- Kenya
- Peru!
- Sweden
- Somewhere beachy
